For an Egyptian Prince…

A pair of Egyptian gold bracelets inscribed for Prince Nemareth, son of Sheshonq I, founder of the 22nd Dynasty. 

The bracelets (c. 94o sc) are inlaid with lapis lazuli and blue glass. On each a framed panel contains a raised gold figure of Harpocrates seated on a lotus, with traces of red inlay between the tips of the lotus flowers. The remaining part of each bracelet is decorated with a chevron pattern formed of gold alternating with inlays. H 4.2cm
